Technology options
Genotype:
Two dry bean varieties (Phaseolus vulgaris L.)
are proposed for introduction:
- Habit type: erect, unclimbing; vegetation
period: total temperature sum required from
sowing to maturation: 1700-1800o C; complete
resistance to halo blight; seeds: white color,
kidney-shaped, 1 000 seed weight: 440-460 g;
a pulse crop; yield potential under production
conditions: 3 000 - 3 200 kg/ha. "
- Habit type: erect, unclimbing; vegetation
period: total temperature sum required from
sowing to maturation: 1800-2000o C; complete
resistance to halo blight; seeds: white color,
cylindrical to kidney-shaped, 1 000 seed weight:
180-200 g; a pulse crop, suitable for canning;
yield potential under production conditions:
3 500 - 3 800 kg/ha.
Production characteristics of technology
- Use of mechanization: in 80-100 % of the elements;
- Use of conventional machines - only harvesting
requires a specific approach;
- Use of pesticides: 90-100 %;
- Use of mineral fertilization: moderate, depending
on the agrochemical parameters of soil.
Stages of introduction
- The Originator institution has to receive
information about the agroecological conditions
(including soil types, climate, specificity
of terrain) and the production conditions (including
agriculture system, technical equipment, etc.)
in the respective region of India so that the
team of authors can evaluate the possibilities
for adaptation of the technology.
- Signing of an agreement for introduction
of the varieties.
- Conducting a demonstration field trial.
