PROPOSAL FOR TESTING OF MISKET KAYLASHKI VARIETY BY INCLUSION IN THE LIST OF VARIETIES OF INDIA

Misket Kaylashki variety is a white, wine variety with medium size of the cluster, 15.3/9.4 cm, cylindrical, often branched, loose, with weight of 200-220 g.

The berry is medium large, 14.7/13.4 mm, oval, with weight of 2.0 to 2.4 g. The skin is thick, elastic, yellow-green to golden yellow. The consistency is succulent. The taste is harmonic, pleasantly muscat.

The grapes ripen during the first half of October.

The grapevines have moderate to strong growth, good fertility and yield, 1000-1200 kg/da. It is not susceptible to catkin formation and millerandage. It is practically resistant to mildew and grey rot and has very good resistance to low temperatures. The grapevines can be grown under different kinds of trunk training, by leaving during pruning short fruiting elements - spurs and half-long canes.

The grapes are suitable for production of white wines and juices with pronounced muscat aroma.

In case of shown interest, the variety and its growing technology can be provided to be tested under observance of the regulations of UPOV. The testing will be made within the framework of a contract concerning the benefits of the two countries.
