PROPOSAL FOR TESTING OF NASLADA VARIETY BY INCLUSION IN THE LIST OF VERIETIES OF INDIA

Naslada variety is a white variety of double purpose (for fresh consumption and wine production), with medium size of the cluster, 16.2/10.1 cm, conical, loose, with average weight of 250 g. The berry is medium large, 18.4/16.7 mm, oval. The skin is thin, tender, greenish-yellow to amber-coloured. The consistency is fleshy-succulent. The taste is harmonic, slightly muscat. The grapes ripen during the first half of September. The grapevines have moderate growth, high fertility and yield, 1000-1200 kg/da. It is practically resistant to mildew and has increased resistance to oidium, grey rot and low winter temperatures. It can be grown under different kinds of trunk training, by leaving during pruning short fruiting elements - spurs and half-long canes. The grapes are suitable for both fresh consumption and production of white wines and juices.

In case of shown interest, the variety and its growing technology can be provided to be tested under observance of the regulations of UPOV. The testing will be made within the framework of a contract concerning the benefits of the two countries.
